HERSHEY PARK (Part 2 of a flashback)
After our first camping trip with the rental pop-up, we decided to invest in some camping gear We bought a 2 room tent, 2 sleeping bags, a portable Coleman stove, 2 Coleman lanterns and some stack-able metal pots, pans, and dishes.
Now that we were all set with the equipment we decided to go to Hershey Park, Pa. We got to our site and got our tent and poles out of the carrying bag and tried to look professional while putting the poles together and the tent up. Who do we think we were fooling? After several tries and mishaps, we finally got everything set up it, by then it was mid-afternoon. We thought this didn’t give us enough time to see the park so we postponed it till the next day. The day was so nice and beautiful we opened all the tent flaps and went to Hershey’s botanical gardens.
The gardens were beautiful and had many different types of trees and plants that we had never seen before. After several hours we decided to get something to eat and go back to our tent. While we were away it had rained into our tent soaking the sleeping bags and including the inside of the tent. We quickly took the bags out and put them in the car to start drying. So now we had to decide where we were going to sleep
We decided to sleep in the back of our Subaru station wagon. It was a little uncomfortable but it was dry and warm. The next morning we laid the sleeping bags out to dry and went into Hershey Park We had a great time with all the attractions and rides. Then we headed home and got ready for the next week at work, but we learned a valuable lesson on this trip, close your tent up before leaving your site.
