A Tire Safety Idea

This past February Sandy and I traded our 5th wheel Montana for a Itasca Suncruiser. One fear I have driving the motorhome, is the idea of having a front tire flat. Then I found an interesting article in the June 2020 FMCA , Family Rving, magazine that I would like to share with my fellow travelers. The article is title “Enhancing Tire Safety”, authored by Mark Quasius, introduced a new and I think a great tire safety product called Rettroband. Developed by an Australia-based Craig International Ballistics, is a device that is inserted in each front tire to act like a spare tire within each tire. In the article Mr. Quasius details the product descriptive, including how the Rettroband is installed. According to the article, the product is exclusively distributed in the United States by National Indoor RV Centers (NIRVC). The price for the Rettroband is on the high side, but I think the tire safety that you could gain, helps to offsite the cost. I hope this product will eventually be made available for the 5th wheel hauler and the actual 5th wheel unit, (It could be a good answer to a unit tire blowout.) I was very impress with the article and the Rettroband that I just wanted to share the information.
